Altar Servers

Altar Servers

“Then will I go into the altar of God, the God
of my gladness and joy…” NAB Psalm 43:4

If this psalm reveals the simple desire of the collective congregation’s heart, then the Servers and Acolytes, in their pure and simply girded garments, represent the collective congregation.  In their ritual process at the start of the Mass, we look and see, to our comfort, that they are we, joyfully going to meet our God in the pure garments of Baptism.
